History
Pelican Sound, an esteemed equity club in Estero, Florida, is home to a vibrant community of 1,299 residences and features a stunning golf course designed by renowned architects Mike Hill and Chip Powell, which opened its doors in May 1998. Initially operating from a temporary clubhouse, the club expanded its amenities with the introduction of the River Club restaurant in September 1999, followed by the grand opening of the Main Clubhouse on New Year’s Eve of that same year.
In January 2003, a transformative shift occurred at Pelican Sound with the election of a new Board of Directors, resulting in a management transition to the members themselves. This pivotal moment set the stage for a period of remarkable growth and enhancement within the community.
Since then, Pelican Sound has undergone extensive renovations, resulting in a premier lifestyle destination. The community now features an impressive 27 holes of championship golf, designed to challenge and delight players of all skill levels. Two beautifully appointed clubhouses offer a variety of dining options, catering to diverse tastes and preferences, making each meal an occasion to savor.
In addition to our exceptional golf facilities, Pelican Sound boasts 14 meticulously maintained Pickleball courts, 8 Tennis courts, and 5 Bocce courts, providing a wealth of opportunities for friendly competition and social engagement. Our Boat Shuttle service ensures easy access to nearby waterways, enhancing the overall coastal living experience for residents, whether for leisure or adventure.
The cutting-edge Fitness Center is outfitted with the latest technology and amenities, empowering members to pursue their health and wellness goals. Additionally, the newly constructed fitness and dog park has greatly enhanced the members’ experience.
